Lily's Spring Concert

Thursday, March 20, 2008
It was our first school concert, one of many more to come. The program was titled, "Singing the Oldies". The concert began at 9:45 with the 3 year old class. After six songs the two year old class came into the room and joined the chorus. They sang Five Little Ducks, Open and Shut Them and the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Lily, much to our surprise, was a little shy. She didn't sing every word, but chimed in now and again. She seemed happy to be with all her friends and enjoyed seeing Mommy, Daddy, Emma and Kimmie in the audience. It was an emotional event, I even teared up. Jeff and I are still amazed by her every day. Great job with your first concert Lily, you're a star!

The day after Easter....

Hey, where are my jelly beans?

Easter 2008

We had a wonderful Easter this year. Although we missed all our family in New England, we enjoyed lots of family time here in Virginia Beach, just the four of us. We started the morning off with Easter baskets and an egg hunt. We decided to use small eggs filled with jelly beans for Lily and large eggs filled with Gerber Puffs for Em. We also placed an "L" or an "E" on each of the eggs so Lily would have to find all her eggs and leave Emma's. It was a so fun to watch Lily run around the house and Emma even found a few on her own. She figured out how to get the Puffs pretty quickly and was very content just sitting and watching Lily run around. After our egg hunt, the girls played with their goodies (Grammie and the Easter Bunny really spoiled them) and Jeff cooked up a yummy breakfast of sausage, eggs and English muffins. After breakfast and naps we headed out to a few parks, as it was a beautiful Spring day. We started with a light hike on some nature trails at City Park and then went to the Fun Forest Playground in Chesapeake. It is a VERY large park with so much to do. The girls had a blast. We ended the afternoon with a quick stop at the dog park for Kastor. Back at home Jeff and I cooked up a small roast chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing and sugar snap peas. We also helped Lily and Emma enjoy some of their Easter chocolate stash. It was a really nice day with lots of memories. Enjoy the pictures, there's a bunch!! I couldn't pick my favorites so I just posted them all.

Swim Class

Every Tuesday and Thursday for the last month, Jeff and Lily have been participating in a swimming class at our local recreation center. They both love their time together at the pool. Lily finished the class March 6th and is excited about taking more swimming classes. She is a little nervous about going under water, but loves being in the pool and learning all the strokes from her teacher Ms. Lee. Congrats Lilybug, we're so proud of you!

Potty TRAINED!!!

Well, our little girl finally figured it out. After several months of rewards, sticker charts and pull ups, something just clicked!! YAY!! Jeff and I are thrilled to only be changing diapers for one child. As a reward, we brought Lily to Chuck E. Cheese's for a Potty Celebration. Her friend Caleigh, also recently potty trained, joined in on the fun. Congratulation Lily, you're such a big girl!
